Plant Vegetables in Acid Soil

Our field officers did another assistance to 3 farmer groups which consists of 75 participants in Madrat Village, Papua. They learned how to grow tomatoes, sweet corn, bottle gourd and chilli bird pepper in a 2000 m² area, which will be used for Expo activity in July 2020. Just like the village of Subsay, this was the first-time the locals grew vegetables. On this area, their challenge was planting vegetable on land with an acidic pH. For this reason, the field officers provide recommendations for the application of lime to the planting land to increase soil pH to be more optimum for vegetable growth.
