Planting Vegetable on Rocky Soil

One of our field officers assisted 2 farmer groups in the village of Subsay, Warmare District, Papua. Before our officers came, the locals were growing taro, banana and pineapple by opening new land every time they planted. This region is also known for having rocky soil; in order to reduce the land that is continuously cleared by the locals and to increase the income of the farmers, our field team helps them to prepare land on the rocky land. This preparation activity is carried out 3 times a week. In July 2020, they plan to hold a Farmers Field Day by displaying cayenne pepper as the main commodity with beans and kale as the side commodity.
